Christine Gabree
Violin/Viola/Cello
Raised in a musical family, Christine Gabree started piano lessons at the age of six. She began studying strings at the age of nine. At Boston University, she continued piano and studied violin with several Boston Symphony Orchestra violinists, earning a Bachelors degree in Music.After college, Christine played violin in the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra for sixteen years. She was then concertmistress of the Lowell Philharmonic for one season followed by a year of Suzuki teacher training. Her piano experience includes a strong background in theory, harmony and improvisation, the skills that students need to play the tunes they want to learn. Christine has recently completed a Masters degree in Education, specializing in Special Education, and she has a CHRC and provisional Maine teaching certification.
Christine is happy to explore a variety of music styles with her students. With ten+ years teaching experience, she enjoys combining her variety of training and experience to create a fun, nurturing, and individualized approach to instruction here at Tune Town.
